The Biggin Hill Romania Group Foundations for Life Centre
WELCOME Welcome to the the website of the Biggin Hill Romania Group where you will find information on the Foundations for Life Centre (FFLC) built two years ago in Comanesti, N.E. Romania. This website shows the project from start to current use . The FFLC was built on the floor above the Robert Cole Centre-another of the charity's projects, which opened in 1996. The RCC is a daycare centre for children with special needs attending from Kindergarten up to year 8. Students graduating from the RCC continue their education in the premises above their former classrooms. MEDICAL CENTRE The charity are currently raising Ł25,000 (17,000 raised so far) to renovate the wing opposite the Foundations for Life Centre into a medical centre for the many thousands of Comanesti residents not currently registed with a GP to access. Before we can start work, however, we need volunteer builders, plumbers and electricians to make good the floor above so that the homeless currently occupying the medical wing can be re-housed. Spring 2010 would be an ideal time to start this-please contact us... MINI BUS Our Poole contiguency are busy fundraising Ł12,000 to replace the very worn out mini bus which collects around 100 children a day to attend the Robert Cole Centre. They have so far collected Ł10,916.04 through various fundraising events and donations. GARAGE The garage is now constructed and ready for use and provides a much needed resource! SHOEBOXES Two teams have just been out and delivered over 2,000 shoeboxes! What a lot of happy, smiling faces they had the pleasure to witness. Thanks to everyone who played some part in making this happen.
